Mike White, the DeKalb, Texas bull rider who burst onto the Professional Bull Riders' scene in 1999 and captured the 1999 PBR Rookie of the Year title, recently became the ninth PBR athlete to cross the million dollar career earnings hurdle, having accumulated an impressive $1,038,085 in PBR bucks.

Since joining the PBR, White has made five trips to the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, a feat he achieved in the 1999 and 2000 seasons, as well as consecutively from 2002 to 2004. White's million dollar milestone makes him a member of an exclusive group as he joins the likes of bull riding greats Chris Shivers, Adriano Moraes, and Ty Murray, just to name a few. White finished the 2004 season ranked number three in the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) point standings, racking up $229,000 in earnings.

An injury sustained during preliminary go round action of the PBR Express Personnel Invitational held in Portland, Oregon on January 18, has cast a shadow on White's 2005 season. White dislocated the elbow of his free (left) arm and an MRI of the elbow conducted on January 24 revealed that the head of the radius bone was shattered. White had surgery on January 25 at which time screws were used to repair the radius bone. Following an eight to twelve week recovery period, White will return to championship form.
