THACKERVILLE, Okla. ―
Chase Outlaw on 869 Fire Dancer:
There's no history on this bull, and Fire Dancer will be making his Built Ford Tough Series debut. Although we don't know what he's going to do, if Outlaw does the same thing he did last night, it won't matter. Outlaw was in near-perfect form in his opening-round-winning ride.
Brant Atwood on 1423 Wipeout:
Wipeout has been ridden five times in 35 career outs ― all five times by right-handed riders. He does spin to the right and has a lot of whip and action, but doesn't break over and drop very much. He makes it hard for guys to keep their weight forward. Agnaldo Cardozo was 89 points on him earlier this season in Anaheim, Calif.
Renato Nunes on 001 Born Sinner:
This is a relatively new bull with only three career outs. Stetson Lawrence was 86.5 points on him in Tulsa, Okla., two weeks ago. If he goes to the left, he's not likely to shake Nunes.
J.B. Mauney on 8 Kat Man:
In seven career outs, Kat Man has only been ridden once, and it was on the only bad trip he's had ― resulting in a reride for Tyler Harr at a Touring Pro event earlier this year. He's faced Silvano Alves and Cody Nance this season, and took on Ryan Dirteater and Kody Lostroh late last season ― none got the job done. Mauney made up some ground in the World Championship race last night, and he needs to keep making the whistle, because the guys ahead of him don't have a habit of falling off.
Mike Lee on S915 Arctic Blizzard:
There are only three outs on record for this bull, and no one has ridden him, but Lee will be a step up from the other riders he's faced. This will be Blizzard's Built Ford Tough Series debut. He's only been to Touring Pro events up to now.
Guilherme Marchi on 83 Prime Cut:
This is another brand new bull with no history at all ― like Chase Outlaw's foe, Fire Dancer. I'm sure that his owners are more nervous about having Marchi drawn than Marchi is about having drawn this bull. Years ago when Adriano Moraes was in his prime, one of the largest stock contractors around said that he'd rather have his bull run into a truck than run into Adriano. Marchi is the same kind of strong, dominating rider Moraes was.
Jordan Hupp on 66 JD:
You may not have heard of this bull, but he's no slouch. In 35 career outs, he's been ridden just once. Marco Eguchi did it way back in January of 2011, and it was on a bad day for the bull. Eguchi only scored 73 points. JD has faced quite a few of the top riders and none of them have had an answer for him. Hupp had him in Nampa, Idaho, last season, and didn't get a score. Of all the bulls in this round, only D&H Cattle's High Steaks has a higher difficulty rating.
Marco Eguchi on 579 Crooked Mile:
This is the same bull Eguchi had in the second long round in Thackerville last year. Crooked Mile hasn't been ridden at the Built Ford Tough Series level since the 2011 World Finals, but Clayton Baethge took him the distance at a Touring Pro event last season.
Kody Lostroh on 37S Red Hot:
The two met at a Touring Pro event in 2012, and the bull won. Red Hot has been ridden in six of his past nine outs, and all five of those six rides went to left-handed riders. This bull has been a part of some big rides, and has appeared at the World Finals twice in his career. This is a very solid draw for Lostroh.
Ben Jones on 70S High Steaks:
This is the most difficult and highest-scoring bull in this round. He's got about as much up-and-down as a bull can have. Jones has had him once before ― two years ago in Oklahoma City. He made it to 5.5 seconds, which is farther than most guys make it. Ben is a longshot to make the whistle here, but if he does, it will be a great ride.
Edevaldo Ferreira on U899 Scene of the
This bull is also making his Built Ford Tough Series debut, but he's been pretty busy over the summer at Touring Pro events, where he's been ridden in five of his past seven outs. Ferreira needs to break out of the slump he's been in, and this is a great bull to do that on.
The final rounds from Thackerville, Okla., will air Saturday at 11 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
